Food trucks limited in October. Spectacular views, nice walkways, very clean and easy to get to. Check website for special events for the holidays. Must see and NOT crowded.

What a lovely little island! It's barely a 5min ferry ride ($2 return) from the southern tip of Manhattan but you feel miles away, it's so quiet and peaceful. It's also one of the places one can easily do with a stroller or a wheelchair....More

$1.00 ferry, for seniors takes you to an interesting place in the harbor. We spent a couple hours walking the promenade and viewing the organic gardens and art displays. Bike rentals popular.

My husband and I spent a few hours out on the island strolling around, having a look at the historic monuments and houses and enjoying the views and scenery. There are hammocks and playgrounds and cool picnic spots around too. You really can't beat free!

What are you expecting? Free dinner too? Spent an entire day on the island with my family- ages 17, 16 and 10. It was, honestly, one of the most fun, innovative, different, and exciting days we have spent together recently, and we travel together a...More

Financial District
At the southernmost tip of Manhattan, the Financial
District is where New York City began as a center of
commerce. Today, the historic streets and beautiful
setting are complemented by museums, countless
skyscrapers, and the heart of the Financial District,
home to Wall Street and the New York Stock Exchange.
