Lovely place to stroll around and pick up the High Line. Well worth a visit. Advice: Buy an ice cream from Ample Hills Creamery. Wow - super tasty and loads od flavours to choose from.

This neighborhood has something for everyone. Restaurants, hotels and great shopping. And of course the High Line. If you are a tourist with a limited time in the city, the High line is fun to explore...

Everything is happening here. Fabulous restaurants, great shopping and The High Line which is. It to be missed. Get out your credit cards the shops and restaurants and bars are expensive. The High Line is a must do! Jeffries is the first biutique to open down in this district and that is how it all began.

One of my favorite places in NYC. The action here doesn't stop until the wee hours of the morning. Lots of great hotels to stay at such as Gansevoort, which I've stayed at and is a great hotel, the Soho Grand and the Standard. There's the high line which is an old elevated train route and has been converted into... More

Very cool area with a lot of little shops. Definitely recommend spending a day trolling from Greenwich Village, to the West Village, to here (Meatpacking District), to Chelsea. Tons of stuff to see and do.

This place is so much fun. Great food and gelato and tons of great little shops that have things you don't see out every where else.

So much to do! We stayed at the Standard. Walked around, ate, drank and shopped! What a great weekend! Visiting Chelsea Market is always a great time. So many good vendors and food.

Although I have visited the city of New York many times before, somehow the meatpacking district always eluded my attention. Not this time though. According to my daughter an absolute "must-see" . So we added some milage on our Metrocards and went. The area borders Greenwich Village and consists of a huge old industrial building that has been transformed to... More

Staying in West Village

Neighbourhood Profile
West Village
Stretching from Sixth Avenue to the Hudson River, the West Village is one of the city’s most coveted addresses. Full of trendy shops, historic taverns, and cozy restaurants set amid 19th century architecture, this neighbourhood has a unique old-world feel. You won’t find a more picturesque location in Manhattan. Without the traditional city grid layout, it’s easy to get lost here, but that’s part of the fun as you stroll down elegant narrow streets with beautiful brownstones. When you need a break, you can always stop in at one of the many quaint eateries or cafes to soak in the atmosphere, or head to the western edge of the neighborhood to enjoy magnificent waterfront views while taking a leisurely walk in Hudson River Park.
