The Chelsea Market tour with Foods of New York was one of the highlights of our trip. We've been to NYC many times, but never ventured into Chelsea and the Meatpacking District. Our guide, Daryl, was very knowledgeable, personable, and downright entertaining. The tour comes with a delectable range of gourmet treats, with something for everyone. I highly recommend the... Our tour with Robin was fantastic. She knows the neighborhoods and history so well. The vendors we visited were so friendly and the food was fabulous. I could have spent the whole day walking around with her talking, eating, and developing the same passion for the city as she has. She will always be remembered by Team Texas.

Was actually trying to book with a different food tour but it was unavailable when we wanted to go so we luckily stumbled upon Foods of New York Tours. Doron or "D" was our guide and with his fascinating background and knowledge of New York history and of course the amazing food of Greenwich Village, made this the best part... More

Our tour guide, Curt, was amazing! He remembered everyone's name and where they were from. Made us feel like we were on our own personal tour! The food was a spectacular representation of the entire Chelsea Market experience. Well worth the price of admission!

My sisters and I are HUGE foodies so we knew we had to try the #1 rated food tour for NYC. Even though we were caught in the middle of a downpour for a majority of the tour, our fabulous tour guide, Joanna, kept us well-fed, warm, and engaged for the full three hours. There was no shortage of history,... More

I'd read great reviews of the Greenwich food tour but it was even better than I could have imagined!! It was a great way to learn about the history of the area and have the opportunity to eat some fantastic food. Our guide was RJ and we couldn't help but have fun with him from the first moment we met... More

Great tour! Even though it was rainy, our guide Joanna "Queen Of Awnings" always found shelter for us when it got a bit heavier! Joanna was entertaining and informative though out, and gave history and background info for all the stops/tastings as well as the history and culture of the Village. The tastings were all delicious and generous. To name... More

I've taken three of these tours, and all of them were great! We went to the Chelsea Market tour with Darryl as our guide and had a lot of fun. The Original Greenwich Village tour had lots of interesting sites and food, and Bert was a great guide. The Nolita tour had lots of interesting Little Italy history, more great... More

Staying in West Village

Neighbourhood Profile
West Village
Stretching from Sixth Avenue to the Hudson River, the West Village is one of the city’s most coveted addresses. Full of trendy shops, historic taverns, and cozy restaurants set amid 19th century architecture, this neighbourhood has a unique old-world feel. You won’t find a more picturesque location in Manhattan. Without the traditional city grid layout, it’s easy to get lost here, but that’s part of the fun as you stroll down elegant narrow streets with beautiful brownstones. When you need a break, you can always stop in at one of the many quaint eateries or cafes to soak in the atmosphere, or head to the western edge of the neighborhood to enjoy magnificent waterfront views while taking a leisurely walk in Hudson River Park.
