Top ways to experience Empire State Building
The area
Address
Neighbourhood: Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.

Empire State Visits morning and nighttime
Queue was managed extremely well by organised and pleasant staff, of which there were plenty. Clear sky on both occasions. Skyline was amazing on 80th floor. History and pictures of its building also - no health and safety back then. The lift up and down to the 80th travels at amazingly fast speed - awesome.
Thank you for your review. We are happy to hear that you enjoyed our museum and gallery just as much as the view.

WOW! The View of the City--and With No Window Glare or Reflection!!
We thoroughly enjoyed visiting the Empire State Building's Observatory (86th floor). What made it so great in addition to the 360 degree views of the City was that there wasn't glass--it's open air with fencing. The spaces in the fencing were plenty large enough for pictures to be taken and with no glare/reflection like you can (maybe not always?) get at other observatories although they are very nice as well. We went about 45 minutes before sunset so we got great pictures of the City during the day and then GORGEOUS pictures of the City as dark fell upon it. You just stand there and marvel at it. I don't think anyone should take a trip to NYC without visiting an observatory, and again we really loved the Empire's.
Thank you for making the Empire State Building part of your stay in New York. We hope to see you next time you visit. Thank you for the review.

    Stunning!!
The views were absolutely stunning! The Empire State Building tour was my favorite stop of our NYC Trip. The employees were kind, friendly and inviting getting to know us and even contributing their own facts about the building as well. Overall 10/10 experience.
Thank you for your thoughtful review! We are so happy to hear that the views and experience were a memorable one. Thank you for choosing the Empire State Building!

    Nice visit
We visited in June 2023. Tickets must be purchased online for a specific time. They won't let you in there before. The interior is beautifully restored. Of course, a security check is part of the entrance. However, finding the right entrance is difficult, it is rather poorly marked. It is located next to the Build a bear workshop store. Otherwise a beautiful view.
Thank you so much for your review!

    Much improved experience!
Was there >10 years ago and was disappointed, but there seems to have been multiple improvements. The educational part was fun, the outdoor viewing area appeared to update the metal bars so it was easier to see out, and the addition of floor 102 top deck was neat. it was rather expensive though.
Welcome back!! So happy you enjoyed our experience. We hope to have you back soon!

    Totally worth it!
We went all the way to floor 102 and it was amazing!! The views were phenomenal! It was not so easy to get good pics through the glass, but if you angle it right it can be done. This would have been really beautiful to see at sunset... next time for sure!
We are so happy you enjoyed the view. Thank you for choosing the Empire State Building!

Iconic Old Building With an Unmatched View
All tall buildings have a view, that's granted. But at the Empire State Building, you get an iconic view of the concrete jungle called New York - buildings with its own famous stories and a history. The Empire State Building never ceases to amaze people and even from a distance you are always going to see that stand out - whether you are visiting New York for the first time or the 10th time. Getting on top is easy - go downstairs at the entrance, get a ticket and up you go after walking through a lesson in history. The views are just amazing and on a good clear day you can clearly spot the Statue of Liberty. This time we went in a June morning and it was a bit hazy (a few days before the big haze hit New York)... but even then we could see all the way out in a bluish sky. Another time I went was the Christmas week, it was cold and very, very windy at the top. The views are a photographer's delight... the streets and streets of buildings stacked up like match boxes.. quite a view and if you are in NY, definitely worth going up and taking a look.
Thank you for your thoughtful review! We are so happy to hear that the views and experience were a memorable one. Thank you for choosing the Empire State Building!

    A forgotten jewel
It was my first time visiting the Empire State Building - after visiting other NYC observatories, I decided to give the old classic a try. And wow! The whole place was quite empty - no lines, no crowds, and instant access on a Sunday afternoon in June. Amazing views with plenty of space to walk around and take pictures, and overall a very relaxed experience. Clearly the profusion of other observatories in the city means the Empire State is now a bit forgotten by tourists - which makes this a great time in history to visit it without the mad crowds we often see in pictures. My only complaint? Standard admission costing $48. Ouch!! And the upgrade to the 102nd floor (with virtually the same views) costs extra. Maybe more reasonable prices would attract more tourists? Anyways, all in all it was an amazingly quiet experience in a New York classic that everyone should experience.
Thank you for choosing the Empire State building. We are so happy you a had a memorable visit. Hope you’ll come back and see us soon.

    Worth the time and money
The view was beautiful. The staff was AMAZING!!! Kind, friendly and informative. I accidently bought the wrong time of day ticket. I called right away and was told not to worry, that they would accommodate when I arrived. I didn't trust it was that easy so I asked for the man's name and his position. He politely told me. And to my surprise when we arrived they accommodated without any issues. Everyone was so pleasant. It was an amazing experience,
We’re so happy to hear that you had a wonderful visit to the Empire State Building. Thank you for the review. Hope to be a part of your next visit to New York.

    A MUST SEE!
The Empire State Building experience is one you cannot miss. Much thought has been put into designing an immersive educational trip through history. And even with rain and clouds, the view was spectacular.
So glad that the Empire State Building exceeded your expectations. Thank you for your review.

Having your Ticket a head of time is a plus! Very well organized on moving people along.... stop and get your picture inside the hand of King Kong, some great pictures here. I was impressed by the way they had the history walk through. Of course viewing from the observation deck was amazing to see the city.
Impression was very clean and organized to move people along without feeling rushed.

In the course of a self-guided walking tour of uptown NYC, we strolled 34th Street to the Empire State Building. We did not have reservations, but inquired about getting tickets at the entrance and were directed to a kiosk in the lobby. There were no crowds at the time, 3:40, so we purchased tickets for 4:00. Then we went directly to the elevator and shot up to the 86th Floor where we went to all sides of the building for views and photos. It was a beautiful clear, sunny afternoon. Perfect. Then it was up to the 102nd Floor. Again, we had uncrowded access to all the views available. Then we went back down to the ground floor. A truly wonderful experience.

Went to the Empire State Building with my wife and my in-laws. My mother-in-law used a walker for support and was able to go through the trip without any limitations. It was a Bucket List item for us and proved to be everything we expected. The staff was so supportive and cheerful. Great experience.

We had been to New York a couple of times and this was always on our bucket list. Time to empty the bucket. We really enjoyed it and the nicest part was the many helpful people who worked there. Especially amazing was Renata. She was so warm and helpful We wish we could take her home with us! And it wasn't just us, we watched her helping others. What a blessing!

I grew up in Jersey and have wanted to go up the Empire State Building my entire life! Sadly, I moved to Florida before I got the chance. Now I’m back for a visit and took the opportunity to check this off my bucket list. I was not disappointed. The 86th floor observatory is what it’s about. No express pass was needed. Got tickets online while walking to the entrance. $44 (adult) and worth every cent. Walked straight in, went through security, perused the museum, and hit the elevators. There’s actually lots to see before you even get to the observation deck. The anticipation was killing me! When I finally got to the observatory I almost cried. Most amazing views of the city that you will ever see. Uptown, downtown, Long Island, and Jersey. The sites were unbelievable. By far the best thing we did in our four days in the city. Highly recommended!

We arrived around mid-day and there were no queues, in fact, it was quite quiet. The views were incredible and the staff friendly and very helpful. They took us to the 80th floor, inside viewing, in the first instance and then allowed us to go up to the 86th floor outside. Great views, we all thoroughly enjoyed it.
