The mansion itself is interesting and has a great history, but the real draw is the grounds. Set on the highest point in Manhattan and with beautiful gardens and trees, you almost forget you're in New York City. A great visit that gets you far...More

This mansion is always beautiful, no matter how often I wander past on one of my northern Manhattan walks. Lots of history here, and a good bit of exercise in beautiful surroundings.

Built in 1765, this wonderful old home is an historical treasure in a well preserved historic neighborhood. As the oldest remaining home in New York, it needs work on the outside to be returned to its original beauty but the inside has been lovingly restored...More

I've been wanting to check out the Morris-Jumel mansion for some time and finally made the trip. I would heavily advise taking public transportation unless you live close by because parking is very difficult. The house itself is a cool site to see as you're...More

Had no idea this place existed, but were trying to fill a morning and fancied taking a look at a different part of Manhattan. There was a tiny picture in our guidebook which caught our attention. What a find! I loved the fact that it...More

The Morris-Jumel Mansion is the oldest "colonial" house in New York City (1765). It is in a very interesting neighborhood - you must see Sylvan Terrace. The tour is self guided - 3 floors - not a lot to see but interesting history - including...More
