Great Artist Venue

Wonderful outlet for some talented local artist. We have purchased a number of pieces over the years.

Traveling with a 4,6, and 11 year old. 11 year old found it interesting and wondered through. 4 year old was bored. For small town museum thought it worth the stop.

In the winter, there are not tours on Mon and Tuesday - but we took a self guided tour on our own and were not disappointed. The caverns are amazing! Everything was enchanting - except for one young couple who took 5 or 6 selfies at every turn. It did not seem as cold as we expected and we got... More

If you have a couple hours to spare, stop off at this nice museum with some very interesting exhibits. Art gallery has a nice area for local artists.

This is a sweet spot in an otherwise charmless town. Interesting historical artifacts, local and important NM art, and other items of local history. Worth an hour while on the way or back from the Caverns, which are unfortunately the only reason to be in Carlsbad city as a tourist. This museum is free of charge as well.

This was our first time visiting a cavern and it was beautiful! Drive up was nice too. Definitely a must see! Get there early though and bring comfortable shoes it's a long walk. We took the guided Kings Palace tour which was a separate fee and worth it. After the tour we walked the Big Room which was a great... More

The drive and the experience of hiking inside the caverns was beautiful. However, after a point it can't get quite repetitive if you are not a buff. Thankfully they have exits where you can just hop on the elevator and head back. They also have a kennel to keep pets during the visit inside the caverns.

The Carlsbad Museum features local artists and artifacts from the local area. Nice to browse the neat displays and enjoy a bit of history and there is no fee.
