We visit farms and historic sites fairly often and were excited to visit this farm, but it was a bit underwhelming. We were able to interact with a few chickens, but the two oxen and a handful of sheep were off in corners where we...More

My family and I spent a week in the outer banks. My wife read a review online about the farm. We decided the kids would like it for the hands on and we would like it for the history. We arrived about an hour after...More

So Impressed. NICE people, and everywhere you look - complete perfection. Loved the ox cart ride and the inside of the buildings. Enjoyed feeding the chickens too! Could've spent hours and hours there. Wish I'd had time to go to the evening lantern tours.

We visited Island Farm in the early summer and I really don't recall the hours of operation. I think the best source would be to call or e-mail Island Farm Administration directly. Sorry I couldn't be more helpful. Bill B.
