This out of the way place is really cool. On this trip I decided to ride my road bike beginning at the airport. I wrote up the north rim to the Mummy Cave Lookout. Right next to this is the Massacre Cave Lookout. From there...More

Beauty Way Tours provided us a wonderful experience. Our driver provided us a personal and historical tour of the canyon.

Take the tour and see the beautiful canyon where people actually live! Make sure you stop by the visitor center first and take a look at the short movie before the tour. It is beautiful and absolutely unbelievable!

We thoroughly enjoyed our all day tour. If you aren't an avid history buff the 1/2 day tour is probably enough, but we are very happy to have spent the entire day in the canyon with our Navajo guide.

This National Monument is spectacular and well worth the visit. The Canyon is up to 1,000 feet deep and there are amazing views from the overlooks. It is also worth getting a local guide to take you through the Canyon floor, although there is one...More

The rim roads are very driveable. You have to have a guide to tour the canyon floor. The only public access to the canyon is the White House Trail

As for the roads, we have had no trouble getting into Chinle, or out. That being said, the roads and trails INSIDE the Canyon are very rough, not improved, BUT you cannot go in there on your own, you MUST have a Navajo... More
