Right down town. Very historic building still in frequent use. Great architecture. One of the buildings has been converted to the Museum of Contemporary Art. Too bad that tall buildings now obscure most of the view of the building.

The history here is fantastic. Make sure you walk around and check out the great architecture. Catching the train here is easy whether it's Amtrak or the local trolley. right downtown on the waterfront with lots of parking close by.

We took the train on Christmas Day from north of Los Angeles all the way to the end of the track in downtown San Diego. The business class section was very nice and they have water and snacks. We took early train to avoid a 6 to 8 Hour drive that many people have told us is now the reality however the freeway did not look too bad early Christmas morning. There are a large number of people that got on in Los Angeles to come all the way to the last stop in San Diego downtown and thert were also a lot of people as I get on in Anaheim and Fullerton to come to San Diego. It appears that it is a much busier between Los Angeles and San Diego that it’s in Los Angeles Two points north. We enjoyed the train ride to avoid the road traffic which could have been 6 to 8 hours but was lighter on Christmas Day however going home on the weekend after Christmas I’m sure the freeways will be packed and the train I’ll be a much better option.…

Beautiful in the Spanish Colonial Revival style, its ornate twin domes are just one of the attractive features. Unveiled in 1915 at the apogee of American trains it marks a delightful arrival welcome to the beautiful city. The surrounding concourse is also lovely with a sweep of coloured tiled seating. Very relaxing. Inside the station further ornate designs are to be seen. The main hall has splendid suspended lighting below a wonderful ceiling of alternate wood and plaster. It is quite easy to navigate, aided by numerous cafes and other eatery outlets.…
