It was an honor to take my family here. The USS Midway is a 100% must see, whether you are a military person or not. The ability to be on a military vessel, to see and feel and imagine what it would be like was fascinating for my entire family. They provide a free audio tour for kids and adults.... More

Spent an afternoon touring the USS Midway. The history of this ship and the layout of the tour is amazing. The docents are so knowledgeable and energetic, most had personal experiences with the ship. Has given us a new appreciation for those that served on this ship, and all military service persons.

My husband spent a few hour exploring the USS Midway Museum the day after Thanksgiving and it was certainly worth exploring! There's so much to explore on this HUGE ship and I loved all of the mannequins that showed live aboard this floating city! The simulators looked like quite an experience, but we didn't try any! Very easy walking distance... More

Didn't have the opportunity to visit inside, but was impressed by the size of this old WWII vessel. There were a bunch of different planes and helicopters on deck to visit too. Seemed like it was worth the visit.

This reallife carrier museum floating on the seaport allowed I to explore almost parts of this ship and aircrafts on the carrier. It combined both naval and aviation at one place. I took 3 hours most enjoyable tour from the body of the ship to the airstrip on the deck , ended my tour on the commanding tower("bridge"). The most... More

I HIGHLY recommend taking time during your trip to SD to visit this museum. It really is an incredibly cool tour. The USS Midway was an actual carrier ship in use from ~1945-1992, and the public/private partnership has done a fantastic job turning it into a floating museum and memorial. I've toured a few other decommissioned ships before (Boston, NY,... More

Due to the # of reviews, I considered this a "must-see" for our family's San Diego trip, but wish I had done a little more research. I had a 7 and 9 year old, who got a bit tired after seeing aircraft after aircraft. There is a lot to read and learn which is great for adult, but kids need... More

We decided to go today, which is a Friday, instead of on a weekend, which we feared it could be very busy. So glad we did!!! We didn't have to wait, the overall experience was OUTSTANDING! There was so much to see and learn. The audio headset was great to have and to use. However, we learned the most from... More

My husband and I saw the Midway when we did the trolley tour of San Diego and decided we would like to go back and go onboard. We expected to spend a couple of hours but actually spent 5 hours here and still left wanting with a couple of things we hadn't managed to see. We took a break in... More
