If time allows try to sit down on one of many benches. This relatively small park is so lovely that its beauty deserves a few moments of our time. Nice flower arrangements, ornamental ceramics, little fountain. The landscaping of this place is remarkable.

A nice place to rest and take photos. The landscaping is lovely with the low hedges surrounding the plant beds. Benches in shady area dot the garden, so you can take a breather from exploring Balboa Park and it's many attractions.

It is a nice garden in a great area of San Diego and this garden tends to be lost in some of the other areas of Balboa Park and it could be better maintained but worth a visit if up at Balboa Park.

We wandered through here as part of a walk through Balboa Park. It's nowhere near as nice as similar gardens in Spain but it's a tranquil spot.

The Alcazar Garden may be small but I was very impressed. There are beautiful flowers which nicely compliment the architectural lines surrounding this elegant courtyard garden. It is both photogenic and peaceful. Worth stopping in on your next visit to Balboa Park. Loved the gorgeous...More

Yet another free thing to do at Balboa Park. The hedges are badly in need of a trim (as you may be able to see from the photos). Pretty much a walk through all the same...

We really enjoyed walking around Balboa park as there were so many beautiful things to check out. A lot of their museums made you feel like you were in Spain- and this little garden with moorish architecture and design sealed the deal!

It's small and just out of the way enough to be a place you can sit and pause. The Spanish tile and water features amongst all the flowers make an excellent backdrop for pictures. There are benches to rest for a brief time without a...More

Shaped borders with lovely flowers are seen with the tender care of volunteers. The display is changed frequently and always a joy to take a few minutes to walk amount the displays.

This is a popular spot for wedding and quinceañera photography due to surroundings of gardens and a backdrop of interesting buildings. Between planting seasons some of the areas are dirt, but it’s a nice “pass through” garden when visiting museums.
