Went in a field trip with 7th graders. The kids loved it! Lots to see and do. Very hands on. Kept them busy for a few hours. Parking was easy. We had lunch at the park that was adjacent. I didn't realize Balboa Park had so many great museums and attractions. We will definitely be back!

This used to be a go-to day outing when my kids were little, so my son and I were excited to be taking my granddaughters here. Unfortunately things have changed over the years and it was not even close to the same. The downstairs was cluttered with a circus theme, up stairs had only a few of the cool science... More

Hello, Louie! Thank you for your comment. We’re always looking for feedback from our community. We pride ourselves on consistently providing our guests the best experience possible, and we’re very sorry our exhibits did not live up to these standards. We bring in multiple traveling exhibitions each year, and we constantly repair and refurbish our permanent exhibits. Because this is... More

The Reuben H. Fleet Center in San Diego is another somewhat mediocre attraction so far as adults are concerned, at least at first glance. My 6 year old seemed to like it, but adults and likely teenagers will be bored stiff in 15 minutes. This is how it was for us, until we found their live demonstrations. They played with... More

They have made this place so fun - with the interactive science exhibits and the circus part (where your child can actually walk a tight rope - if they are brave enough). The imax theater is always good. Parking - say a prayer, or you may never find any.

My children loved their visit to the science center. We had a tough day at the San Diego Zoo, so this was much better after we left there and went down to the science center. The center has many exhibits for Ida to learn, and they also had pretensions going on while we were there. This was a part of... More

Best museum for kids in San Diego! There are so many cool science exhibits for kids here--most of which are hands-on. We also really enjoy the IMAX movie theatre and the cool mobies they show there. There are even sections of this museum dedicated to toddlers (grocery store section) and another that is great for teens (the building and architectural... More

When Ann and I lived in San Diego, our daughter worked at the Reuben H. Fleet Science Center! It has remained a top place to enjoy special features that use the domed ceiling as a projection screen for viewing all kinds of remarkable films of astronomy, space, and even other features which used the unique cameras that film this 3D-like... This is just ok. If you compare it tot the DC museum or any other science museum you would agree. They had a lot of waste space with no exhibits around them. All this circus stuff was there, whcih was ok. But, with so much technology out there, it felt outdated. If you have a museum pass from another membership... More
