We were down in SD for a soccer tournament for the Big Bean and wanted to take the little beans somewhere fun. They loved it..from the 2 year to the 16 year old. I would highly recommend for any family!

It was ok, but not fascinating. We have definitely been to better museums. The films were interesting.

This small museum does a pretty good job of explaining the natural history of Southern California in its exhibits. For example, one interesting exhibit explained the impact of brush or forest fire on birds, animals and insects. It also has a good selection of movies and visiting exhibits. If you have time for 3-4 museums in Balboa park, the Natural... More

My husband and I enjoy regular visits to this museum. The exhibits are very well done with interactive opportunities throughout the museum. Our granddaughter has a wonderful time playing in the dinosaur campsite set up for little ones. The special exhibits are updated regularly and never fail to amaze. This museum is located in Balboa Park. We are never disappointed... More

This is not a big natural history museum. Not many exhibits of dinosaurs but am impressed by the wide varieties of animals n plants found in certain parts of California, and conservation effort and campaign found in this museum. My children (18mo 4yo,5yo) enjoyed all the sections especially those that require them to search for animals stated in the diagram... More

The museum is modern, fresh, well set up. A good take on the natural history of the southern California area. Location in Balboa Park is terrific.

My husband and I dropped into the museum simply because we already paid for it through our GoPass. It was okay. The whale exhibit is informative and nicely laid out. They even have a life-size demonstrative whale's heart put up (not the actual heart but what it would look like du-uh) But it's pretty cool. There are 3-4 3D shows... More

My boyfriend really wanted to see what this zoo had to offer, so since it was a part of our San Diego Go passes we thought why not. WE arrived a half an hour before closing (poor time management on our part) and when we got there we realized we didn't have our Go passes. The staff at the desk... More

Spent a few hours at the museum and found it very enjoyable. The exhibits are interesting and details and there are also some live species resident in the museum. Very modern in a lovely building. The 3D theatre is also very good.
