Founded in 1874, the San Diego Natural History Museum is the oldest scientific institution in California. Explore Southern California's past to present with 3D films and numerous exhibits. We were lucky enough to see Ultimate Dinosaurs in February, 2017.

A huge collection of animals with entertaining ways of giving information. The kids in our party are quite young for this museum but were still entertained.

We enjoyed this museum with our 7 yo son, especially to see the dinosaur skeletons, but everything else was we'll presented too. Glad we did it, educational fun.

Our Family loves Natural History Museums and we visit them quit often on our trips. This one is one we are definitely not coming back to see. The exhibits areas are very small and mainly non interactive. Save your money and visit a different museum

A wonderful experience that gives one a taste of the history that San Diego and Southern California has to offer. Not the largest museum I’ve been to but more than enough for the day - especially when combined with everything else Balboa Park has to...More

I loved the natural history museum and spent the better part of an afternoon exploring the 4 floors. There's something for everyone here and more on the way. I think that this place would appeal to families with kids (maybe 5+, I would say) because...More
