Point Loma has outstanding views of the ocean, San Diego, mountains and is the location of a lighthouse and Cabrillo National Monument. There are tide pools that you can hike to. We saw a seal frolicking in the surf, spotted fishing boats, pleasure boats and military boats. There is a huge variety of vegetation on Point Loma.

We go here every time when we are in SAN DIEGO. The views are spectacular and well worth the drive. Cost is $10 to get in but ticket is good for 7 days so one can always go back another day.

This is the place to get a fantastic view of San Diego and Coronado Island. The afternoon is the best time to visit when the sun is shining from behind. It is well worth the ten dollar per car entry fee plus you get the history of Cabrillo the Spanish explorer added in. There are short and medium hikes that... More

This place was great! Parking has a fee but you can return for multiple days. Parked by the tidal pools and walked around the area. Also took a look inside the lighthouse and took the Coronado side path around the edge as well. Probably allow for 2-4 hours depending on how much hiking/walking you want to do.

I highly recommend to go to the end of Point Loma. The old light house is a must see for historical purposes. The Cabrillo monument is also great history to absorb with artifacts hiking trails and a great fun full of facts gift shop.

Fabulous views and easy walking. Watched the sunset. You can grab a snack and a drink while visiting so don't need to take anything with you. The military cemetary is impressive as is the lighthouse.

If you pay to get into the "Memorial" area - which means parking, you have to leave BY 5:00. So, for $10, you can't even see the sunset! It is a great view of San Diego, but I think it is expensive for what you get. There aren't a lot of walking/hiking options. The small visitors center is, well, small.... More

Love venturing out on Point Loma when visiting San Diego. There is so much to see and the military cemetery is so gorgeous and serene.
