We went to the Fleet Science Center to see "The Art of the Brick" and were fascinated by that. We walked all around and the architecture was overwhelming, so beautiful. We had lunch at the Prado Restaurant in the Hospitality Center and it was delicious. We will go back on another day to see the zoo, the Museum of Photography... More

People watch, dine at the Prado, listen to musicians, attend an art fair, go to a museum... do a photo shoot, there is always something to do at Balboa Park. As of now the parking is free. Bring your kids, your dogs, your best friend, a date... Wear comfortable shoes - lots of walking!

A sprawling outdoor wonderland covering 1,200 acres with fountains, a beautiful mix of Spanish, Moorish Revival, Pueblo Revival style buildings. A wonderful rose garden ( best seen in Spring to early Summer ) but still worth a look! My fav was a rose called Girls Night Out, a bright pink (of course) and though it was only in bud, it... More

Balboa Park is one of a kind. Kind of touristy, but well worth seeing if you're in the area. It borders the San Diego Zoo, so if you're wandering through go to the zoo too.

For the tourist or local, Balboa Park is a must see place of beautiful scenery, quality art, food, holiday programs and just about anything else you can think of. Plan on spending time and energy at the park. It is big. The park spreads out over canyons and mesas and you will need some decent walking shoes to see it.... More

We went to four museums and barely scratched the surface of what there is to do. But the Zoo, with a $47 admission, was way to pricey for us.

Balboa park was built for the World Fair around the turn of the century. It has amazing architecture, vast gardens, lots of very cool nooks and crannies to view and explore, koi ponds, rose gardens, a botanical garden, organ pavilion, not to mention the several great museums and a couple of great restaurants all with the car parked. You could... More
