There is so much to do within the park itself. A historic carousel, a train ride and the zoo, an active artists village, museums, gardens, fountains, park spaces, and of course the Cabrillo Bridge.

Beautyful park and buildings. You will spend 2 hours just walking around. Time will be longer if you chose to go into many muzeums which are in the park.

Been there dozens of times. You won't see anything like this anywhere in the world (Well, I haven't been everywhere, I'll bet that I'm correct in saying that. San Diego is unique and Balboa Park is a unique part of this city. Oh, by the way, the world famous zoo in here too.

This area has beautiful architecture and lovely gardens. It was very busy when we visited the weekend of April 29. There was a lot of plays throughout the park and it was very busy. I hope to visit again when there is not so much going on.

I have always been drawn to Balboa Park. It is 102 years old and the architecture is a cross of turn of the 20th century optimism, Spanish Colonial, whimsy, and Dr. Seuss. The museums have great exhibitions as well as permanent displays. From the giant organ played on Sunday afternoons to Shakespeare at the Old Globe to performance artists to... More
