Balboa Park is gigantic and has a huge variety of museum and gardens. Every building is beautiful just to walk around and look at. Parts of the park are hilly and you will do a lot of walking but it's worth it.

Plan on checking out the Organ and it's new conductor on Sundays at 2 PM. Our visit was mostly at the Zoo and a quick trolley tour through the park. We walked through the Village, there were many street performers and lots of child-approved entertainment.

We enjoyed strolling through the grounds which were beautiful and well maintained. Loved the open plazas and the unhurried nature of the park. The museums were fee based but we didn't visit any because we wanted to enjoy the outdoors. (It was minus 26 degrees...More

My daughter and I spent the better part of a day at Balboa Park. It is a beautiful area with many activities to choose from. It can get pricey with admission fees to the varying museums, etc, so check prices before you go! Also check...More

No charge for the park itself or for some of the exhibits. There is a charge for some of the museums and the zoo. No charge for parking!
