Good view

Good view of Boston. Lots of local history. There was also a film show about immigrants to Boston which was interesting.

Wow! This view is amazing and well worth a visit. You can see the entire city and it is a great backdrop for those selfies.

This gives you a good view of Boston. You can see Fenway Park from here and a good view of the city. For me it's a bit overpriced. It also gives you lots Massachusetts history. We went on a Monday and it wasn't crowded at all. We spent about an hour here and then went downstairs and walked around the... More

I enjoyed taking in the sights across Boston as it is a very nice looking city, with a mix of old and new.

You can look out across Boston on a clear day but at $18 it's not worth the money to walk around the observatory which can be done in 5-10 minutes.

If you have a friend in town who has never been to Boston this is a good place to get some history with the audio tour thing. BUT, go up to the restaurant one floor above for a drink, then you get the view without the stupid high price of this attraction.

Take the super fast elevator up to this 50th floor garret and you'll get to see all of Boston laid out before you. Fascinating roofscapes and the scale of the city await plus an interactive history of Boston which extols the virtues of immigration when mostly these days we hear about the negatives. Well worth a visit.

Some in the group didn't want to go up to the observatory, but we talked them into it - then we couldn't drag them out! Pick up one of those headsets and learn all about Boston.

We couldn't go all the way around the observatory because of section was closed for a special event . We did get discounted prices due to that fact. What we saw was awesome!!! You can see all the way to New Hampshire -mountains are seen on a clear Day. We could see Fenway Park real well . There are interactive... More

Staying in Back Bay

Neighbourhood Profile
Back Bay
Wander around this quintessential neighborhood in the heart of Boston for high-end shops, restaurants, and the feeling of city bustle. Its most identifiable skyscrapers, the Prudential Center and John Hancock Tower, are highlights of the city skyline. Visit Newbury street to explore unique and trendy boutiques – as well as every other kind of store imaginable – all housed in beautiful brownstone buildings. In nice weather, restaurant patio seating is packed with Bostonians and tourists alike soaking up the sunshine and enjoying the food. Commonwealth Ave offers a beautiful stroll down residential tree-lined streets. Keep walking towards the Charles River and enjoy a beautiful view by the water. In warmer months, people run and bike on paths running along the esplanade, and sail and kayak on the Charles River. Boylston street, also full of shops, bars, and restaurants, is the finish line of the Boston Marathon. Head towards Copley Square and check out the Boston Public Library, which is particularly beautiful from the Dartmouth street entrance.
