Beacon st is very long! From the common to Mass av. it i very rich in architectural homes from the early days of Boston. After BC area it becomes a bit more diverse and some new structures mix with the old. Some interesting and good restaurants along the way. There is a nice stretch with "young vibe" around Coolidge Corner.... More

Beacon Street is a major road that runs through several Boston neighborhoods and a few of its western suburbs. The most scenic area of the street to walk on is in the Beacon Hill and Back Bay neighborhoods of Boston. Here, the street is lined with historic buildings, attractions, shops, and great restaurants. My favorite end of the street is... More

Beautiful area, lots of history, wonderful old buildings, easy to walk around (but hilly). Best done when you are going to a destination -- a club, or restaurant, or to the Boston Common -- rather than just sightseeing.

This is a gorgeous part of Boston and we were here in February. Would like to see it in late summer early fall sometime. The area is also well maintained. Check this area out if you are visiting.

Historic and beautiful. We rented a very small apartment on Beacon St. for a long weekend. Was well worth it as it was close to a lot of historical sights. The homes/buildings in this area have beautiful architecture. There's a few structures that are extremely old and have been well maintained such as several churches...breath-taking. Boston Common is within walking... More

Staying in Beacon Hill

Neighbourhood Profile
Beacon Hill
Visit this historic and ritzy Boston neighborhood to soak up its classic New England charm as you stroll down cobblestoned, gas-lamp lined streets. Bring your walking shoes, camera, and select a nice day to wander through the hilly neighborhood and check out its exclusive addresses. Louisburg Square, Mt. Vernon street, Chestnut street and the extremely narrow and widely photographed Acorn street make a nice walking path. Make sure to meander down Charles street to poke into boutiques and antique shops, cafes, and restaurants on this quaint shopping street. Don’t forget to catch a glimpse up close of the State House with its beautiful and iconic dome.
