This street reminds one of "olde" Boston, yet the stores are quite differentiated to appeal to anyone's taste! Good old Starbucks is on Charles Street as is J.P. Licks. The pasta at Artu's is unbeatable! There is a cleaners, a stationary store, a True Value store, a lovely store to buy infant and toddler clothes, several antique stores, etc. The... More

Boston's architecture along side to many shops, coffee shops and restaurants. Walk through Boston Public Garden, stroll through the charming narrow Beacon Hill streets. Have a wonderful day!

Boston's great, and this street in particular is awesome. So many great shops to experience and places to chill. Great variety no matter what you fancy. People here are the best! Come, shop, chill and relax with coffee or a pint, you'll love this street!

Nice Street to walk around if you are in Boston. There are antique stores, gift shops, art boutiques, and clothing stores. This street (and the nearest area) is also distinguished by its architecture.

Charles street is in the brick laden Beacon Hill. A picturesque place to stroll, shop at boutiques, or stop for a bite to eat.

My friend specifically asked the concierge for a shopping area that had more local boutiques rather than chain stores and he pointed us to Charles St. He was right. Mostly stores (a little pricey but what do you expect when you are located on Beacon Hill?) that you'll never see elsewhere located on an adorable little cobblestone street that butts... More

We took many photos while we enjoyed the historic charm of Charles Street. The coffee shop was a welcomed refreshment as well as the antique stores and quaint shops. Very clean and picturesque. This area gave us a memorable morning with a walk through Boston Common to arrive there.

Definitely a lot of tourists walking up and down Charles Street. Not many great stores and restaurants. Streets are crowded and not worth the aggravation.

A lot of cool shops here to check out. There's a JP Licks (ice cream) which was really good and Charles Street Liquor is definitely worth a stop for anyone interested in local liquor. The staff were fantastic with describing all the local brews and liquors on the shelf and it was hard not to buy more than we could... More

A delightful street at the heart of Beacon Hill life. With specialist stores wnd restaurants, most perhaps independently owned. With red brick sidewalks and the attractive architecture, this is a must to visit

Staying in Beacon Hill

Neighbourhood Profile
Beacon Hill
Visit this historic and ritzy Boston neighborhood to soak up its classic New England charm as you stroll down cobblestoned, gas-lamp lined streets. Bring your walking shoes, camera, and select a nice day to wander through the hilly neighborhood and check out its exclusive addresses. Louisburg Square, Mt. Vernon street, Chestnut street and the extremely narrow and widely photographed Acorn street make a nice walking path. Make sure to meander down Charles street to poke into boutiques and antique shops, cafes, and restaurants on this quaint shopping street. Don’t forget to catch a glimpse up close of the State House with its beautiful and iconic dome.
