Bites of Boston Food Tours' Sweet and Savory South End Tour is a food tasting and neighborhood walking tour, providing locals and visitors alike the opportunity to explore and learn about the South End of Boston. The South End is a vibrant culinary and cultural community, but remains an area less traveled by most who visit the city. Our "off the beaten path" adventure combines delicious food tastings at 6 local eateries with a fascinating neighborhood tour to allow our guests to explore and experience the South End like a local.

During the tour, guests can expect to not only learn about the history chef/owners behind each of the restaurants and markets we visit and taste delicious local foods, but also to visit unique points of local historical, architectural and cultural interest in the neighborhood. This 3-hour tour is filled with food, facts and fun!

All food tastings are included in the ticket price and collectively provide enough food for a satisfying lunch for most people. This tour covers approximately 1.5 miles in 3 hours and is suitable for a variety of ages and fitness levels.

Had a great tour of the South End with interesting facts about the neighbourhood. Our guide was knowledgable and engaging. The one thing as mentioned by the hangry guy the samples are bites and though there are a number of stops it is a bite at each. So dont go hungry. Other than that we had a great time

What a great way to spend an afternoon! A lifetime MA resident and frequent visitor to Boston, I was amazed at how much we learned on this tasty tour. Our tour guide, Rachel, was great. She kept it light, fun and informative. The food we sampled was delicious, our favorite being the meatloaf sandwich from Parish Café. Not that the... More

I am a long-time Boston resident. We got the food tour as a gift and were skeptical as we have been to many (though not all) of establishments on the tour. However, we had a great time. Yes, the food was delicious and the quantity was enough to leave us stuffed. However, what really made the tour was the knowledgeable... More

Bites of Boston Walking Tour of South End, about 3 hours of walking, eating, and learning about history, architecture, restaurants, and entrepreneurs. Very educational experience; food samples from about 5 restaurants and a cheese shop, were filling and satisfying. Since I'm from Boston, I could have added a little more information, but I think everyone got what they came for... More

My husband and I went to Boston for our first time in September, not knowing much about South End or the food scene except the outdated ideas of Boston cuisine (ie Boston cream-pie, baked beans... you see where I’m going?) and we we so happy we checked out Trip Advisory for some recommendations on sights to see and things to... This is a well crafted tour that makes for a unique experience in one of Boston’s less touristy areas. The South End is a hidden gem of a neighborhood with beautiful brownstone buildings and parks, and the food scene scene is both delicious and diverse. This tour enlightened us to some very interesting local history and introduced us to neighborhood... More

Staying in South End

Neighbourhood Profile
South End
Stroll down the beautiful brownstone lined streets while capturing views of Boston’s tallest buildings from a distance. Some of Boston’s best restaurants are scattered around this neighborhood. There are many gems to be found, from jazz clubs to classy bars and restaurants. It is also home to art galleries, interesting boutiques, artsy stores and SOWA open market during the summer months. The South End is a true find in the city, with a more residential feeling than Back Bay.
