This striking I.M. Pei edifice, famous for its beauty and infamous for falling glass panes, is Boston's tallest building. After terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon, the popular 60th-floor observatory was permanently closed due to security concerns.

Hadn't heard of this before we arrived - so glad our niece sent us a link, it was a truly spectacular view and yes we "tilted" the price was reasonable and always worth asking for discount we did and got a reduction well worth a visit

This is a great place to stop for a drink or bite to eat while enjoying the view over Boston and well beyond. We went up on a cloudy day and still had a great view while enjoying a bottle of wine as a storm rolled in and by. To summarise a simple restaurant / bar on the 100th floor

What makes the Hancock Tower so impressive is it's location. It's across the street from Copley Square and has an amazing reflection of Trinity Church in it's facade. If you're lucky enough to be there at the right time of day and the right sunlight, you can see the reflection along 2 sides of the building at the same time!

Stunning view on the city. WE took the package skydeck plus a drink and that is just perfect. Really liked to chill out on the top floor looking at the skyline and the lake. Even better when it is really sunny and blue sky. Really worth it !

one of the few high rise towers in Boston. The interesting thing about high rise in Boston is most of the high rise are build by insurance companies. The other one is Prudential. Also get wonderful surrounding in this area too.

A good eagle eye view of Boston and surrounding communities. 360* of spectacular views. Fenway Park. Boston Harbor Islands and beyond. On a clear day out to Cambridge and Arlington, MA. Romantic at night. A pplace to unwind and see it all.

I went to Boston BTA (before trip advisor), this was one of the best things I did as I got to see the city laid out and it helped orientate for looking round. It was also cool to be able to listen to air traffic control at Logan airport with the planes.

The building is impressive and offers nice views of the city if you can access the inside somehow. On the outside it is glass and you can take nice pictures including the Prudential or parts of Copley square. It is nice to walk around the area in warm days.

Staying in Back Bay

Neighbourhood Profile
Back Bay
Wander around this quintessential neighborhood in the heart of Boston for high-end shops, restaurants, and the feeling of city bustle. Its most identifiable skyscrapers, the Prudential Center and John Hancock Tower, are highlights of the city skyline. Visit Newbury street to explore unique and trendy boutiques – as well as every other kind of store imaginable – all housed in beautiful brownstone buildings. In nice weather, restaurant patio seating is packed with Bostonians and tourists alike soaking up the sunshine and enjoying the food. Commonwealth Ave offers a beautiful stroll down residential tree-lined streets. Keep walking towards the Charles River and enjoy a beautiful view by the water. In warmer months, people run and bike on paths running along the esplanade, and sail and kayak on the Charles River. Boylston street, also full of shops, bars, and restaurants, is the finish line of the Boston Marathon. Head towards Copley Square and check out the Boston Public Library, which is particularly beautiful from the Dartmouth street entrance.
