Some beautiful work by artisans is in this building. I was awed by the depth and breadth of the talent displayed across the various media, but was most impressed by the quilting and woodworking. If money were no object I would have filled my car...More

No pictures allowed. I suspect the prices are higher here than anywhere else in Asheville. I saw a lotion for half the price at Mast General Store later that day. Fun to look.

I bought several glass blown Christmas ornaments here. I had a hard time choosing which ones to purchase, I saw many other things that caught my eye but had to keep in mind what I could take back on the plane,

Maybe my expectations were too high or was expecting to see more but it felt more like an over priced gift shop than a arts and craft center. Glad I stumbled across it on the blue ridge parkway and didnt make a special trip just...More

We made a special trip to visit the folk art center and were extremely disappointed. Crafts were very expensive (and seemed overpriced). We spent 2 days visited the Asheville arts areas including downtown and the RAD. We saw similar arts and crafts as in folk...More

There is so much to look at here, something for everyone. The upstairs galleries and exhibits are well-lit and filled with very interesting items, as is the downstairs. Beautiful hand-made items, and some of the artists were working there on site, throwing pots and painting....sensory...More

What a beautiful place. Absolutely remarkable artwork. Hard to imagine someone had the vision to build this 30 years ago.

Authentic crafts by the locals. Everything was superbly made. Items for everyone.....the prices were reflective of how much effort was used to create each piece. I highly recomment a stop here.

What a wonderful way to spend a couple of hours! This really gives people an appreciation for age old skills. Thank goodness this knowledge is being shared and passed on to a new generation of artists.

Sometimes when you attend this museum they have crafters making their wares. It has pieces on display as well as pieces for sale. It is a great place to stop along the Blue ridge Pkwy

Seeing both attractions is certainly doable in one day. Start with the Folk Art Center which is self guided and can be done easily in one hour. From there go NW on the Blue Ridge Parkway and see part of the wonderful... More
