We had a very nice, relaxing time kayaking. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The river views are gorgeous and peaceful. It was certainly worth the time and money spent. We'd definitely do it again!

We joined AOC for a tandem kayak 7 mile self guided tour down the French Broad River. After checking in, they drove us up river, put us in, and we cruised down the river. There was a good current and took us about 2 hours....More

These folks are great - we had a blast!! I loved that they drove you to where the trip begins and then you just paddle back to their site. We saw some beautiful herons too!!

We rented kayaks here and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The reservation counter rep was wonderful. After signing our release forms we received our life jackets, a preview of what to expect as we kayaked down the river, and how best to handle encountered obstacles. Caution,...More

The staff was great! Very friendly! The river was beautiful and easy to paddle -- even for beginners (as I saw from some of the people in the group).

No, they sell beer at the AOC but NC law prohibits having any alcohol on you while on the water.

I'm sorry we no longer offer tubing. We do offer a 7-mile kayak/canoe trip which takes 2 1/2- 3 hrs depending on water levels.
