This sad building was built in the wrong place. There is only parking in one stinking (if you get my drift) parking deck. The facility is run down and ugly. It should have been replaced years ago.

We attended a Loreena McKennitt concert at the Thomas Wolfe Auditorium -- our first time in this venue. On the positive side, seats are quite good and I honestly didn't see what would be considered a poor seat in the house. For this concert, the sound was very good. Staff were extraordinarily pleasant, polite and helpful. On the negative side,... More

I recently went to "The Sound of the 70s" concert here. The speakers were very poor quality. There was so much distortion in them, that I could not enjoy the music. I know these professional bands had high quality sounds, but the distortion would not let me hear their high quality sounds. And one of the lead singers of "Orleans... More

We have been to concerts and craft shows at the downtown civic center. They have a parking garage nearby with inexpensive rates. The center is huge!

The Wolfe auditorium is a small venue inside the Civic center. Holds about 2200 or so people. We attended a concert there and were impressed with the entire operation. Front door ticket takers, ushers, security, refreshment stand were all very polite and helpful. Easy to find, lot of parking (fee), easy exit. Restaurants for any taste within easy walking distance.... More

Typical large auditorium venue for large events. Seats are comfortable and sight lines are good, but everything needs some updating.

We wanted to see the craft fair in this facility. The upstairs vendors were awesome; very gifted artists and beautiful wares. Downstairs, there were opportunities for people of all ages to try their hand at weaving, watch craftsmen making wooden bowls, and of course....live music.

They recently redid parts of the building and it's poorer for it. Who can read the digital rotating sign so quickly? Liked it better when everything was up instead of holding up traffic during a rotation. And the renaming stinks. It'll always be the Asheville Civic Center to me.

I saw Jackson Browne in concert last night at the Thomas Wolfe auditorium. This was an excellent venue for listening to music. There were not any bad seats in the house. Even patrons in the higher seats enjoyed an excellent view of the stage, and the acoustics were very good. The restrooms were clean, and the staff who worked at... More
