The civic center has two parts--a multi-purpose arena and an auditorium. The civic center parking isn't too far away but the major problem is that on event nights, the cash takers are buried in their cell phones or talking with each other. Plan on up to fifteen minutes waiting to get far enough along to give them money.

Horrible venue for concert. The Celtic Women were wonderful entertainers and their music was beautiful. However the acoustics were terrible! The bass overpowered the sweet voices of the Women. And the audience talked, ate and used their phones for taping and photography. On the plus side, the restrooms were clean and the staff courteous.

I've gone to a few events at this location and it's pretty alright. The building could use some updating and they could manage the crowds a little better. When I went to the craft fair, it was over packed. Once you got into the building, you couldn't move and it was pretty hard to enjoy the fair. The beer event... More

I've been here a few times for games but this was my first concert experience here. Acoustics are nice and the staff is very friendly and professional. One thing I found interesting was that you have to buy an arm band ($2) before you can purchase alcohol. No biggie but most places provide the band simply with proper ID.

This sad building was built in the wrong place. There is only parking in one stinking (if you get my drift) parking deck. The facility is run down and ugly. It should have been replaced years ago.

We attended a Loreena McKennitt concert at the Thomas Wolfe Auditorium -- our first time in this venue. On the positive side, seats are quite good and I honestly didn't see what would be considered a poor seat in the house. For this concert, the sound was very good. Staff were extraordinarily pleasant, polite and helpful. On the negative side,... More

I recently went to "The Sound of the 70s" concert here. The speakers were very poor quality. There was so much distortion in them, that I could not enjoy the music. I know these professional bands had high quality sounds, but the distortion would not let me hear their high quality sounds. And one of the lead singers of "Orleans... More

We have been to concerts and craft shows at the downtown civic center. They have a parking garage nearby with inexpensive rates. The center is huge!

The Wolfe auditorium is a small venue inside the Civic center. Holds about 2200 or so people. We attended a concert there and were impressed with the entire operation. Front door ticket takers, ushers, security, refreshment stand were all very polite and helpful. Easy to find, lot of parking (fee), easy exit. Restaurants for any taste within easy walking distance.... More

Typical large auditorium venue for large events. Seats are comfortable and sight lines are good, but everything needs some updating.
