What a place. I see this as a mystery; a European chateau in America, who would have thought ! I was a little sceptical at first but after experiencing the wonderful drive up through the estate grounds I knew I would like it. Experience a 1.5 hour tour though the chateau, then walk around the gardens, go and pet the... More

Our one full day in Asheville we spent at the Biltmore. What a beautiful, interesting house. Loved see the "technological advances" of the day that Vanderbilt incorporated into this amazing home. Tickets are not cheap, but we all felt it was well worth it. Definitely a highlight of our trip. Ticket tip: If you're a AAA member, you can buy... More

The house in incredible in its own right, but add to that the Christmas decorations and it is simply magical. Can't wait to return in the spring!

Beautifully decorated. Headphones for information available for a fee. Docents are available in some areas; however, they don't offer information unless you ask or have a question. Lots of stairs. Elevator available to 2nd floor, but you will miss out on the lower levels if you can't handle stairs. Very interesting visit and I highly recommend a tour if you... More

Touring the Biltmore mansion is like stepping back into time. The historical background, furniture and implement preservation, and location – scenery truly makes an experience that's unforgettable. Our trip was a private Tour and the tour guides were excellent. They managed to give an in-depth historical perspective peppered with colorful anecdotes about this amazing family that was so influential in... More

We've been to the Biltmore several times and my favorite tour is the "Rooftop Tour". The history you learn and the views you get from the rooftop can't be matched.

Located in the beautiful blue ridge mountains of Asheville North Carolina the Biltmore Estate is something not to be missed. Not inexpensive but you can spend most of the day there. If you are from the area are planning on returning during the year you can buy an annual pass for just a few dollars more. The staff was very... More

I don't believe you can avoid the crowds here at Christmas time. As always, interesting to see how "the rich folk live." Christmas decorations are an added bonus in December. Great tour, but crowds & food prices are $$$ - $$$$ !
