Exhibits great, average shop

They have great exhibits here and a nice map of the area, but if you are looking for t-shirts look elsewhere. Great book selection.

We visited Panther Junction Visitor Center while visiting Big Bend NP with our kids (11, 9, 5). This visitor center is very small compared to some parks, but is the main HQ for Big Bend. It had some nice fossils and a cool 3D model of the park. Limited amount of clothing and gifts. There is a bathroom, post office... More

Stopped here to get our passport stamp (which we collect from all the national parks) and gather information about what not to miss in the park. The ranger helping us was very knowledgeable and helpful.

This is a great place to plan your visit to the Park. I guess you could say it's kind of in the center of the park. You can get everything you need to know and plan your activities during your stay at the park.

This stop is essential! The ranger can answer questions on where to go and what to do; what animals have been cited on the trails recently; what trails are good, etc. In addition, the book supply is fantastic!

The movie shown here is really an excellent introduction to Big Bend and the gift shop is very nice. We walked around the garden path to familiarize ourselves with the native plants.

This is an excellent place to meet with the park rangers and to get questions answered. They have numerous books on display for sale about BBNP and on the various trails, plants, animals etc. The rangers are very helpful and patient in answering questions about things to do in the park and how to get across the border to Mexico.

We arrived on a Monday in early August after a quick but intense downpour. Unfortunately, we only left ourselves half an hour before closing. The rangers were busy helping a visitor; the gift/book area was well stocked and busy, and the bathrooms were clean. We didn't get a chance to walk through the display/education area. It should be noted that... More
