This is among the best little museums I've been to. I must admit that prior to my visit I knew very little about Los Alamos. The Historical Museum provides an interesting and easy to digest overview of Los Alamos before, during, and after its famous...More

A short drive from Santa Fe, Los Alamos offers several interesting museum options. The Historical Museum is small, but well worth the $5 fee and offers perspective on the atomic bomb project and the people who were tasked to develop it.

This is a great place to learn about the background and development of Los Alamos from the time it was a boy's ranch to a secret atomic city. We found it most interesting.

The atomic bomb was designed in a secret city hidden in the New Mexico desert. You can visit the modern community that secret city spawned. A well-guided tour explains the history before, during and since the frantic three years of work that led to Hiroshima...More

You will learn many things at the museum that you had no idea took place. How a rural place literally in the middle of nowhere became the secret location that changed the course of history of the world.
