I asked a ranger at Canyonlands National Park for a map of The petroglyphs in the area. These were amazing and so cool to see up close and personal, and from the road too. These truly are a highlight of my trip today! Wow.

It is quite hard to see the paintings/drawings but once you do wow, amazing. It is worth the trip to see it.

Was pretty fun. Did this drive when it was too hot to really be outside (thank god to air conditioned cars!) Saw petroglyph, dinosaur prints, and took up views of the canyons. would recommend for any ages because everything is accessible.

We found it so incredible that there are so many of these ancient sites with amazing petroglyphs that aren't really protected in any way. Unfortunately we did see some on our travels that had been marred by grafitti. Surely it would be possible for a...More

In retrospect this little ride down #279 was a high light of my 3 days in Moab. It had all the spectacle of the rocks of Arches National Park with 1% of the people. Majestic rock cliffs along the Colorado River - towering above you...the...More

That's the one - as you leave Moab heading towards Arches - 279 is on the left. It follows the Colorado River on the left (nice views) and it is a cliff on the right. You will go by cliff climbers first and then there will... More

The ride is not that far. The Native American drawings are before you get to the parking lot where you can see the dinosaur footprint. But there are no signs marking the drawings, so you have to keep a sharp eye on the... More

Great views for mobility challenged folks. I know it's far from your situation, but we took our disabled Corgi in his stroller.
