This may be your first Arch.

It was our first arch and it seemed fairly near the roadway. We were taken by its perceived bulk and strength.

This arch is off the side of the road about a 15 minute drive south of Moab. It's only a short hike up from where you pull off on the highway. It reminded me a lot of Turret arch at Arches National Park. If you've already gone there and seen Turret, then you may choose to skip this one as... More

We came upon Wilson's Arch unexpectedly on the way into Moab. It was fun to scramble up and take pictures. Nice to have something so beautiful be so accessible!

Wilson's Arch is located right on Hwy. 191 about 1/2 way between Monticello, UT and Moab, UT, and is on your way if you are driving in from the south or if you are driving from Moab to The Needles District of Canyonlands NP. There is a pullout on either side of Hwy 191 for photo ops. You may take... More

We are 2 Aussie retirees on self drive tour. What a great sight on a sunny day often some young people have climbed up and sit and wave from the bottom of the hole. It's right beside the road you cannot miss it. Put it on you bucket list of things to see in the US. Also make time for... More

Nothing too exciting but nice place to stretch your legs. Decent view, short hike. Worth stopping for 15 minutes.

Glad we decided to stop at this pull-out after seeing the arch from the road. It is a quick hike to the top with a nice view through the arch of the valley on the other side. Watch your kids though at the opening of the arch! Great place to stretch the legs after a long car ride on the... More

As you head south toward the Needles entrance to Canyonlands there is suddenly this gorgeous arch that is easily reached from the road. The scramble up is totally worth it.

The Wilson Arch is located 25 miles south of Moab on Highway 191. This land formation is named after Joe Wilson, who built a cabin nearby and is 14 meters tall and 46 metres in length. The Wilson Arch can be a good introduction to the impressive land formations you will see at Arches National Park for those traveling north... More
