We were caravaning behind friends who wanted to take this route back from Moab toward Salt Lake City so we could stop at a winery/lodge (Castle Creek Winery/Red Cliffs Lodge). It was out of the way but definitely worth it. I was driving and kept...More

The parks (Canyonlands and Arches) are unbelievable. However, Route 128 along the Colorado River and into Castle Valley was probably my favorite part of Moab. We drove out of Moab this way, versus taking the main highway, were on a bit of a time crunch...More

Wow! What a gorgeous drive! Takes your breath away! There were a lot of folks using the recreation area for rafting, biking and camping. We were just escaping the heat after a morning of hiking and were so glad we took the opportunity to explore...More

If you’re leaving Moab travelling north on Main Street, which is actually US 191, just before you cross the Colorado River you’ll see a turnoff to US 128 heading east. If you take US 128 and travel approximately 15 miles you’ll travel through the Colorado...More

We loved this drive! There are some 'dude ranches' along the river that look like cool places to stay. You can drive out to the Fisher Towers for more great views. Plateaus and mesas everywhere. And hardly any traffic.

Beautiful drive through the Canyonlands. Interesting Rock structures and arches. There are also a number of activities and tours that would fit different age groups and fitness levels. A photographers dream.

This drive was one of our major trip highlights. Just stunning scenery. We drove west to east. I wish we could have driven it both ways. One of the most beautiful drives we have done. Highly recommend!

There are small campgrounds along the river, very bare bones, with pit toilets and I think a running water source. We stopped to use the toilet at one. As mentioned there are a couple really nice Dude Ranches up towards... More
