Just by Pier 39 these guys are really cool. You can spend ages just watching them. Just a few minutes walk along the pier while you are Fishermans Wharf. It worth taking the stroll to see these world famous icons.

Huge grouping of Sea Lions in one location. They are in the wild and not restricted - they just like to hang out here. Sometimes there is a bit of an aroma that goes with it,, but this wonderful site to see is one of...More

They noisy. They are argumentative. Some are lazy. And they are incredibly entertaining. They crowd on to platforms and invariably someone runs out of room and falls off. We watched one large lion climb up on a full platform and literally crawl across the tops...More

Yep, they've got seals. Not sure if they're there to watch the humans, or if we're there to watch them! Definitely will be on every tourists' itinerary.

I could have stayed all day to watch the sea lions. The pier has a boardwalk feel with food, drinks, shops, and even a carousel. We loved it.

When you go here, keep in mind that there are alot, and I mean ALOT of seals. They're usually hanging out sleeping, but every once in awhile they get VERY active; they howl, and fight each other. Because of this, there will be LOTS of...More

If you have never seen sea lions you must not miss it. However, if this is not your first time, you can spend your time having lunch in the area which is very nice.

Sharing the wharf with yachts is this noisy colony of Sea lions, they play, fight and preen very close to the wharf side and don't give a hoot about the tourists taking pictures. Honking and growling they are an amusing sight to see on the...More
