This is a fantastic way to see more of San Francisco than just the normal Embarcadero sector. We started our vacation with the hike, allowing us to get the lay of the land and to see amazing passages that most people would never see. We encountered beautiful gardens and surprising sites along the way. In our group, we had visitors... More

Great start to the holiday especially as this was our first time to SF. Excellent views, seen places that we would not have encountered on our own, Guide was extremely informative and friendly. Be under no illusion it is a good walk and lots of hills but well worth the effort! highly recommended.

Alexandra is a great guide. She knows the city inside and out, and blends fun trivia and history with a beautiful route through hidden trails that she mapped out and forged herself. Meeting other guests from around the world, hearing about her experience starting a company in the epicenter of startups, and uncovering hidden gems of nature in a large... More

The guide was friendly, knowledgable and helpful regarding transit options around SFO. I thoroughly enjoyed the pace of the tour and the information provided. She also took some great pictures of the group and the views and posted them for us.

If you want to explore and appreciate the city of San Francisco away from the popular tourist traps, then this experience is a must. I was amazed at what we covered in three hours, and how much we learned. Great views, interesting trails via lane-ways and stairs that you would never find on your own, emerging on the summit of... A backpack, water bottle, and sunscreen are a must in summer. The biggest surprise was all the hidden staircases. I had no idea. I also liked... More

Our tour guide, Alex, was really knowledgeable and friendly. She was also a very good storyteller when it came to sharing the history of the sights we saw.

Neighbourhood Profile
Mission District
From burritos to bicyclists, the Mission is the foundation for all things hip in the city. Cultural attractions, an independent arts community, sumptuous street murals and a high density of bars and cafes make this neighbourhood a magnet for young people. While terrific inexpensive food is abundant, its top-of-the-line restaurants now compete with the city’s best for fashionable diners. Indulge as the locals do by heading to Mission Dolores Park, buy some ice cream, and savor one of the most diverse neighbourhoods in the country.
