Beautiful at sunset

These ruins have a lot of interesting history and are beautiful to see at sunset. I would definitely recommend going to see them on your visit.

Sutro baths is by the beach and used to be the pool used till 1909 mishap happen. It's beautiful view from parking lot. If you go to restaurant next to tourist office you will find paintings of how it used to look before it got destroyed. Not sure why it was not rebuilt. It leads to a trail so if... More

This is a little slice of San Francisco of the olden days, when a family outing would include a day at the baths. The facility was huge, with slides and heated pools, restaurants, and every amenity you would want for a day's entertainment. The ruins are picturesque, and deserve a good look.

Looking to find food we stumbled onto this area. It's interesting to see how the water has withered away the structure. Located beside the baths are caves that water splashes into. We were able to safely take all 3 children through the caves. It's worth the visit and a great way to walk off a meal.

We've been to Europe and this was just as lovely as the things we've seen there. VERY interesting! The trees along the drive leading to the viewpoint are absolutely wonderful. Very unique to the area.

It was a long time before I really knew much about the Sutro Baths. I became aware of this place after visiting a few businesses and seeing a picture of this massive swimming and sauna facility on the wall. After looking at the title of the picture and doing some homework, it was when I realized that this photo was... More

Sutro Baths is but a ghost of what it once was. It is unfortunate that a fire destroyed this historic landmark. That said, there are plenty of places to walk and explore. Two words of warning: be aware. Waves have been known to crash onto rocks and the caves. People have been washed out to sea and have succumbed. Be... More

So cool! Visually stunning. Wear clothes that can get dirty, and spend the better part of the afternoon. Lots to climb and explore. Rocks, caves, sand and ocean. Incredible. I wish I'd budgeted much more time here. I consider it a must-see.

Sutro,, what a story,, and the Sutro baths, and the place is just wonderful. I would have liked to ride the train out there along the cliffs, Sutro really gave us, lots of wonderful land to walk in and enjoy out by the Cliff house and the Sutro Baths . He also gave the land that UCSF is on. He... More

I never get tired of visiting the site of the old Sutro Baths. There is such a strong feeling of old San Francisco here, especially when combined with a lunch at the Cliff House and a visit to the Museum at the visiting center (next door to the Cliff House) where you will find pictures and novelties with so much...
