The Island is being torn down and hardly anything is left. There's a church and a couple wineries along with a Moto and barbecue schools but that's about it.

I agree with prior review about radioactive wasteland......but the view is worth the exposure.....skip the flea market or wine tasting

We stopped at Treasure Island out of curiosity. Oh my. Certainly got a laugh out of our visit. Do not waste your time. Nothing is there but nuclear wasteland. The ONLY reason to go might be to take a picture of the San Francisco views....More

This is a very quick drive it's an exit ( on the left) from the Bay Bridge. The views of San Francisco are great. Best place for pictures. The view stretches from the golden gate, Alcatraz, & downtown. The island is small only one cafe...More

The view of downtown San Francisco and the rest of the city is extraordinary from the bay front. Lots of new housing development is scheduled for the island so it will change a lot.

Treasure Island Music Festival is the BEST FESTIVAL I have EVER been to. It is the best forum to watch some of you favorite bands, drink some of your favorite wines, or shop for cute little things to take home. I highly recommend visiting Treasure...More

Treasure Island looks like the Acocalypse. Abandoned barracks, signs with warning for asbestos and radio active hazards. It looks like humanities has gone under. But it is the best place for taking a photo of San Francisco´s skyline! The island was built, artificially, 1936-37, due...More

Do not forget to come here. I think it's the place where you can make the best pictures of all SF. You have the chance to see some friendly rattles. And day and night the sight is gorgeous.

We've driven over the Bay Bridge houndreds of times and we finally stopped! Amazing place to get pictures of the entire bay! Downtown, Golden Gate, Alcatraz, the East Bay and Bay Bridge can be seen! Cute little harbor too.

If you are an early riser, or better yet make a special effort, Treasure Island is the best spot to greet the rising sun. There are spectacular views of the sun mounting the horizon behind the East Span of the Bay Bridge. The West Span,...More

Coming from Sf do I exit right or left from Yerba Buena to get to Treasure Island?
30 April 2017|
Response from SanFranciscoPatrick | Reviewed this property |
Coming from SF, the exit will be on your left. So, stay in the left lane and slow down when you exit. It is a sharp and short curve !!!
What is parking like on the island? We saw there were 6 little wineries on the island and wanted to make a Saturday stop (looks like most were open between 11:00 and 5:00 p.m.) but I can't seem to figure out where you park on the island, how much it costs, and what the availability is like. Any help would be greatly appreciated so we can work this into our schedule! Thanks!

The Military base was decommissioned in 1997 and the island returned to San Fransisco. Many of the old base structures are still standing and have been re-purposed into other businesses. You can drive all over the island now... More
