We have created a state-of-the-art banya in which we offer services and a place to revitalize bodies and relax minds. It is a place to meet with old friends, make new ones, or have a quite time just for you refreshing and energizing yourself. Archimedes Banya is a remarkable blend of 'past and present', where ancient traditions of Greek laconica, Turkish hammam, German thermen, Russian banya, etc combine with science and technology to create an experience like no other. Detoxing in perfect heat rooms, plunging in an ice-cold pool, enjoying a breathtaking view on a sun-lit deck, conversing over a delicious meal - you can have it all in a quintessentially San Francisco style. And yet there is more. Famous venik platza, a rich pallet of massages, scrubs, wraps, herbal and mineral baths will help you leave behind the worries of your day and explore new sources of energy.

Ok, here we go. 1. Do not judge the place by th location. It is a new upcoming area. 2. It has several floors, traditional massage and Turkish Hammam, food floor, pools and saunas, and the sky deck. 3. People and staff very nice, average age was mid 20's, mostly couples. 4. Treatments - I had the Hammam and Venik... More

I've never been to a spa in Russia so I don't know if this is how it usually is but it's a great place to go unwind. When you check in you're given a wrist band with an electronic tag to keep track of all your purchases and it also opens a locker. The sauna/spa floor is divided into clothing... More

We visited Archimedes at the start of January 2014. We'd driven up to SF from the OC for New Years. After a long drive we were both in need of a decent massage & some spa time. Friends had visited a couple of months prior & told us about this place. We decided to give it a go & after... More

We have been to many spas around the world, but never in Russia. If Archimedes is archetypal, they should all be Banyas! We went on a Friday midday. She was a little hesitant about the clothesfree option, but quickly adapted upon seeing most of the gender mixed crowd sans swimwear. We enjoyed the soaking tub, the cold plunge, and the... More

I was looking for a european style sauna in San Francisco and found this little gem. Its a very nice, clean place, the staff is very friendly and helpful. I've tried the venik platza a very unique steam experience I can only recommand. After enjoying the sauna and venik platze I was relaxing on the roof terasse from where you... More

Coming from Europe, this place looks like a cheap sauna club rather than a spa. The surroundings are not welcoming, the building is outdated, the reception is not informative, and the choice of activities is limited. That said, as this is probably the only place with clothing optional mixed sauna, there is not much choice, and you can relax here... More

I've been to Banya a few times now and absolutely love it! Great soaking tubs, steam room and dry sauna - try the amazing venik treatment! I've had a massage there as well and it was amazing. Cafe has some good snacks and the rooftop amazing views of the bay and a good place to chill outside. They sort you... More

I really enjoyed my visit to this spa. There are an assortment of steam rooms, saunas, a small pool, cold bath, showers, a jacuzzi and my favorite- the Japanese soaking tub. I got a body scrub while I was there which was great. We were there at night and definitely enjoyed the view from the roof deck. I didn't try... More

How can you try a spa that won't let you take a tour before you buy? The only way to determine overall cleanliness is to see it in action. As someone who has enjoyed spas world wide I have never been refused a look-see until going to Archimedes. Heck even the YMCA offers prospective new clients tours of their facilities).... More

Went to Archimedes Banya last Saturday afternoon with my girlfriend. We have both been to Harbin a few times and love it, so we were anxious to try this local version. We were not disappointed. The baths and saunas were all very clean and inviting. We rotated between the steam room, sauna and hot bath, with a cold plunge between... More
