This is a very nice theater and a great place to see a show, when it opens again. We have friends who produce shows here, so we surely will return. Good sound, quite intimate.

Last night was the opening of Tiny Beautiful Things. The play is based on the book by Cheryl Strayed about her experiences as advice columnist Sugar, of Dear Sugar. The play was adapted by Nia Vardalos, who wrote & starred in My Big Fat Greek Wedding. I wasn't sure what to expect from this play, but it's one of the best that I've seen at SF Playhouse. It's a cast of 4, with Susi Damilano playing Sugar, and the other 3 paying the myriad of people who asked Dear Sugar questions. The plays at SF Playhouse are consistently good, but this production really stands out.

We've attended several performances by this company and they use an excellent theater right downtown just off Union Square. Lots of restaurants and bars around. The theater is fairly intimate and you feel a part of the action. Very nice.

I attended Cabaret last Wednesday. The show was very well produced and acted. The theatre is not very big, so most seats offer a good view and the performance feel intimate.

We went to see Cabaret and it was entertaining. We sat in the Mezzanine which was a little hot, making it somewhat uncomfortable. The actors did a great job and were quite entertaining. I have seen Cabaret twice e on Broadway (when I was much younger) and was as entertained. There is snacks and drinks for purchase before and at intermission. Take the suggestion of the house manager and pre-order your cocktail or snack before intermission to skip the line...(and help out the one bartender filling orders).
