I felt so peaceful.

The Religious Images were beautiful and made me feel so peaceful. We dropped by because this was part of the tour group.

A must-see for aficionados of modern church architecture. The interior spaces are vast, with sweeping curves in every direction. The exterior probably is not as impressive as the interior ... so don't miss it.

Wait until you go inside. Breathtaking. A moving spiritual experience just standing within. From the outside it is big and imposing with a 1960s modern style (it opened in 1971) that didn’t really move us. Like with humans, it is the inside that counts. It is beautiful, warm and full of art everywhere inside, a love poem to God, and... More

It has a very nicely designed modern look. The materails used in construction looks very high quality and smooth. It has a different catchy design cathedral.

This cathedral is amazing. It looks special already from the outside but step in and see the real gem. Everything seems to be one huge concrete structure that lays on only a few columns into which it organically transforms and that are actually pretty subtle. And around that is just natural light coming through the glass walls... It feels like... More

You have to visit this Cathedral which is an easy walk from the city. What amazing architecture. I would have loved to hear the organ playing but of course we were not there unfortunately for a Mass. The lights are amazing as are the sculptures. If you want information about the Cathedral there is always someone willing to inform you... More

Interesting architxture, massive church with an amazing Organo. Definitely is not the common church visit you are used to. The surroundings are very nice also.

The cathedral brings lots of memories. The first occasion when I had mass here was the point at which I was 17 years of age. Likewise recalled that had my father gave me some driving/stopping lessons at the parking area preceding taking the test at the DMV. I truly like going to mass at Saint Mary's Cathedral. Alongside the phenomenal... More

In the interest of full disclosure, i am not a Catholic and i have lived in San Francisco for 30 years. This Cathedral is the seat of the Archbishop of San Francisco. The site, near Japantown, is the third St. Mary's Cathedral for the city. The first still stands in Chinatown as it was saved from the fires of the... More
