This place has really upgraded over the years

This bar has the best happy hour I know. 2 for one from 11am to 9pm. It gets busy but it's the funnest place to be on a Friday evening in the Castro. Bears, drag queens, twines, girlfriends all. Bartenders work hard and serve you fast if you are decent with your tips. Never miss this place on our visits... More

I came here with a few friends and there was a drag show on for a fundraiser. They were selling raffle tickets by height or inseam. Bar staff were friendly enough, but the drag queens and one drag king were the highlights - very friendly and a hoot. Happy hour specials of 2-for-1s are great. Definitely the gay bar to... More

It was a great bar to head to for early evening drinks and prices and I enjoyed the videos from music, movies and TV show... More

The bartender was not attentive at all. He was too involved with this "party of 8" and their potential tip and essentially ignored the other patrons. The music was bland and there is no longer a time when they play funny video clips . Very boring bar now.

Was there on Sunday, it was my first time in san fran. As a non lgbt woman I wanted to get a sense of how people lived in the Castro district. First off it was packed don't know if it was because of the bay to breakers event or just cause it's a cool spot. (Which i thought it was)... More

This place has a really good happy hour, two-for-one drinks. The atmosphere is great with Lots of good looking men. Drinks are strong, and the music and videos are fun. You just visiting San Francisco this is the place to start your evening.

I have a thing for happy hours and this place has an excellent one. Finding a happy hour on a Saturday can sometimes be a difficult goal, but not here. Located in central Castro, this small bar offers 2 for 1 happy hour deals daily. The drinks were strong, bartenders were friendly, and the crowd had a good mix. The... More

It's not a big bar, but it's in a great location, and seems to attract a mixed, friendly crowd. Good prices, with great 2-for-1 Happy Hour promotions at times, as well. However, in terms of that, it could be a little confusing... Friends would come back with their multiples of 2 drinks, yet I would order, and not seem to... More

We come here every time we are in SF. Between the drag shows, video montages and music, it's always a blast. Service and drinks are what you would expect at any bar and are usually fast and friendly. It has been here a long time and rightfully so.

So, this place offers 2-4-1 drinks until 9pm every night. I asked for my drinks in one large glass. NO CAN DO! Against the bar's rules. They could mix a double in a short glass, they sold 6 packs of beer to customers in the bar, but they would not put a double in a tall glass, and they would... More

Staying in The Castro

Neighbourhood Profile
The Castro
A flourishing commercial area that acts as San Francisco's LGBT community center and cultural heart, the Castro is a neighbourhood welcome to everyone. As one of the first predominantly LGBT neighbourhoods in the United States and currently its largest, it remains one of the epicenters of activism in the nation. Grand theatres and glitzy shops now compete with bars and fashionable eateries for attention, drawing visitors from around the world to the bright rainbow flag acting as its beacon.
