It is a pleasure to walk along the bay, and the sights are varied including an old fort, and the opportunity to see at close range and walk under the Golden Gate Bridge. Slopes are moderate, and the path surface is clean. Highly recommended.

Lots of parking available and a busy clean beach to be enjoyed here - a breath of lovely fresh air away from the bustle of Union Square where we were staying.

Lovely walk along the water with a gorgeous view of the bridge. There were many unmetered parking options along the way. If you walk close to the edge of those parking spaces you may be splashed by the water hitting the rocks. Definitely go for...More

Walked on the promenade a couple of times during my visit, but my absolute favourite was at Sunset, with views of the Bridge in the background. You could walk or bike, sit at the beach or just people watch.

Nice area to walk and soak up the atmosphere of San Fran , stop at Ghirardelli for a ice cream sundae or fisherman Warf for a bowl of clam chowder. Make sure you take plenty of photos

Taking a stroll along the promenade is good walk and sight seeing opportunity. Watch the ferry traffic and the working tugs in the harbor take your time and enjoy the sights.

Beautiful homes, beautiful people, and a beautiful
backdrop of the Golden Gate Bridge welcome visitors to
the Marina. Originally the location for the
Panama-Pacific International Exposition in 1915 (whose
remnants can be seen at the Palace of Fine Arts), much
of the land was filled and flattened to accommodate a
world’s fair. That ample space has given way to a
jogger’s paradise at the northern edge of the city.

There are a couple of parking lots in different areas along the bay, but I know for sure there is one where the parking is free. It isn't very big, so it fills up quickly, but it is free. It is right by Crissy Field and... More
