It's a bit touristy, but the Scottish honors are stored here and the audio guide for the whole of the castle and its grounds is great. You can view all of Edinburgh from the castle and the guide also details those views, as well as the historic value of the castle, where Mary Queen of Scots lineage is tied to.... More

We visited Edinburgh in August, so it was very busy with buskers and street magicians - so the castle was crowded as well. However there were soldiers(?), police(?) everywhere keeping us safe so the tour was a success. Going to the top is a great way to see all of Edinburgh at once.

Very similar to the first time I had gay sex. I was promised something big and I was brutally disappointed. Overall not bad.

This was one of the last stops on our hostel pub crawl. Some facts to know about the castle. The beer is reasonably cheap and the decor is pretty cool. It is a dive and dirty and that adds some charm. The potential issue is that it is in the Tenderloin. Now regardless of what everyone tells you, the Tenderloin... More

Great bar with lots of atmosphere. Great beer selection. Laid back. I hear they serve fish and chips and will have to try them next time in SF.

Before moving to the East Coast, some of my most fun times were spent at the Castle, including a couple of birthdays. Bagpipers, Scottish dancing on occasion, "Churchill," and, of course, those famous fish and chips. And now that I've moved back to San Francisco, I recently heard gossip of its' possible closing :( Whatever happened to tradition?!? DJ's just... More

We nearly never went into the castle as it was quite expensive £16 each which is not cheap when there are a few of you. But we paid and am very glad we did it very interesting indeed worth the money and highly recommended. Just be aware young children will get bored
