I really appreciated the size and collections of the museum. The smaller venue allowed for a slower-paced, self-guided tour. By the end of my visit I felt enriched and honored to have been exposed to the great artists from times past, and the various art mediums used to achieve their fine results. I ended the day at the museum's cafe... More

The Legion Of Honor is one of my two favourite museums in San Francisco. Its location overlooks Lincoln Park and the Golden Gate Bridge. I also enjoy watching golfers on the course as I drive up to the museum. I usually visit the Legion of Honor on a weekday morning when street parking is easy to obtain. A ticket to... More

This place can be crowded on weekends. We came during the week and although there were people there, we often had the entire room to ourselves. How lovely that is to look at the art and talk amongst your family about what we are seeing. Photography is allowed without a flash. Without the crowds, we had fun taking creative shots... More

A wonderful day at the legion of honour, amazing artwork! A must see. We purchased a city pass which included this attraction. Well worth the money!

I was visiting one of my best friends and she's taken me here. I didn't think much of it in the beginning but I saw that every room was themed differently. I learned so much just from spending a day there.

I have thoroughly enjoyed my visit to LH per Hitchcock's movie Vertigo. The museum houses excellent permanent collections as well as traveling exhibits. Sculptures, European art, photography, ancient art and deco art are some of the gems you will see. The french styled architecture is also impressive! Must be on anyone's itinerary!

A good range of mainly European art. Well laid out so that the galleries did not feel too crowded and you were able to see the pictures.

Museum is situated above a perch, overlooking ocean. Surrounded by golf links, it's a wonderful tribute to French inspired architecture. Since the new DeYoung was updated, I enjoy the Legion much more.

Everything about this place was perfect. The building itself is beautiful, took me some time to focus my attention on the actual art inside. I love classic european art - the collection is amazing. It's not too big and not too small, just perfect. The hike there and back was also wonderful. But that's another review...

expositions are always very pleasant. The location is even agreeable, even with the local bus schedules. The entrance is welcoming and the pace you can have is always accomodating.
