Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We enjoyed visiting this museum. It’s a perfect size without being overwhelming. The Rodin collection is amazing and there are some beautiful paintings to see. The pottery/porcelain is beautiful but there’s a lot.
A great half day activity in a lovely location with a nice little cafe.

The legion of honor museum would not accept the tickets that I bought through your website, and it was quite embarrassing, insinuating it was fake and they don’t work with TripAdvisor. Not a pleasant experience at all.

Beautiful both inside AND outside... with the latter being quite scenic! Great little collections of art here, would revisit.

This is a wonderful place to visit with brilliant collections of art including a large selection of the works of Rodin. I was amazed at the ranges on display and thoroughly recommend a visit.

After I settled into my accommodation nearby, I took the bus up here late in the afternoon, just to admire the view.

I've visited the art museum severe times and enjoy the space, but the grounds are fabulous as well. The Holocaust Memorial is a stark visual reminder never to forget. Especially now.

There were several graduating students taking pictures during my visit, and as I left on the return bus, a wedding party showed up for portraits.

A beautiful, uniquely SF tradition.

The museum was very good, as usual. Always enjoy their Rodin collection especially. But was very disappointed to go back to the car and find a window punched out. Ours was one of several. We’ve lived in the Bay Area for a long time, so that kind of activity isn’t new, but in this case the only parking for the museum is their surface lot - thieves obviously know that people will leave their car unattended for several hours. Even though there was nothing in the vehicle (and therefore nothing taken) we still have to deal the the damage costs to the rental car our family had. The museums staff was kind of cavalier about our experience, so I assume they are unlikely to add any security to their lot.

BOTTOM LINE - IF YOU WANT TO VISIT THE LEGION OF HONOR MUSEUM DO NOT PARK THERE - take a ride share, taxi or the bus.

Beautiful location - wonderful sculptures - and an awesome presentation within the gallery space.

GREAT bargain - you can tour this museum and the DeYoung Museum in Golden Gate Park - on the same day for a single admission.

My 10-year-old granddaughter enjoyed the sculptures as much as me - what a surprise!

The building itself is a hot-spot. Additionally to the art exhibition, take some time to enjoy the surroundings.

DO NOT GO HERE. Our car has been broken into and others as well and there is nothing anyone can do. They obscure and say it's not the museum's fault and the parking lot is not their jurisdiction, it's the City and County of San Francisco. have been to the Legion of Honor several times and had no issues. STAY AWAY.

The issue that I have ok, the parking is not their jurisdiction, put a sign in the lobby or verbally let you know that this is happening.
