Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

You don't have the best views here, but it's a good start for a walk over the bridge. If you return the same way you're walking at least for 2, 3 hours - on the other side there is a nice viewpoint as well. They have good coffee in the restaurant. You can reach the Welcome Center by public transport. A coastal trail in southern direction brings you to Marshall Beach and Baker Beach. All in all a nice day trip alltogether.

Its a convenient place for bus or taxi journeys, and has facilities such as toilets, cafes and a few explanations and demonstrations for kids to fiddle with about how suspension bridges work etc.
However, it is also the most crowded way of getting a view of the bridge. I'd suggest walking off a few minutes on the path down to the Warming Hut. half way down you arguably get a better view but with far fewer people. You also get a great view from the pier by the Warming Hut.

We stopped here on our way into SF. Very limited parking. Great views of the Golden Gate Bridge, and a few walking trails as well. Bathrooms are also available. LocTed in the South side of the GG Bridge off of 101.

Good place to get your National Park passport stamp (near the front of the store). Nice gifts, mugs, Christmas ornaments, magnets, clothing, etc.
Restrooms (Toilets/bathrooms/WCs/loos) aren't actually inside the Welcome Center, they're a short walk across the way. Typical long wait for women when I was there.

I arrived at the Welcome Center on a Sunday morning. The crowds where light and parking was easy to find. Parking is .25 cents every 15 minutes. The fog in the morning provides a breathtaking view of the bridge and it is a easy walk to different vantage points of the bridge. You can also choose to walk the bridge if you would like.

Skip parking in the upper lot, use the lower lot and walk to the Welcome Center. It’s a 3 minute walk with additional views of the bridge. The walk across the bridge is very nice on a clear day. It can become a little busy with bicycles and walkers. Bring a jacket in case the wind becomes too cold.

Stunning and close-up view of the Golden Gate Bridge! Go in the morning for the sunlight to hit your face, with the Golden Gate Bridge in the background. Do expect many tourists, like yourself. Stay for about 30 minutes to 1 hour. Free ride by Presidio Shuttle Service within the Presidio Area (which includes the Golden Gate Bridge Welcome Center) and to/from downtown Embarcadero. I highly recommend you google Presidio Shuttle. We were there June 26 afternoon and 27 morning.

For those who want to visit & walk across the bridge, this is the place to start.
It does get crowded but heck, its a good place to start taking pics of the bridge from here
Head up north from the centre & you get to the start point of the bridge where the walk across can take between 20-30mins to the far side of the bridge (Sausalito)

Limited parking at the center but plenty in other lots. The visitor center is nice and informative. There is also a very extensive gift shop. I highly recommend this

You will read thousands of reviews about the second greatest bridge in the world ( obviously Tower Bridge is number one :-) says London Tour Guide) but I walked the bridge and when I arrived at the visitor centre I had one question I needed answered.
My Birthday is 27th April and I believed that the last Rivet ( in my opinion when the bridge was actually finished) was placed that day in 1937 ..
Rebekah , working on the till when I arrived, was absolutely fantastic, she helped me research my question and we found the answer.. YES I WAS RIGHT..
I will be contacting the Bridge authorities about the completion date..😀
Rebeka I can’t than you enough for you exceptional customer service .. I was on your beautiful bridge briefly but it made my trip.
Cheers mate
I’ll be back to find that Plaque../Rivet ..
