The San Francisco National Cemetery is tucked away in the Presidio in San Francisco. Many people pass by it daily on commutes or as tourists, but few visit it. It offers beautiful vistas of the Golden Gate Bridge and San Francisco Bay. It is also a historic cemetery, having been founded in 1884. I've attached a photo from a past... More

I try to stop in the Presidio Cemetery every year around Christmas time to pay my respects. The setting is stunning sitting high on a hill with vistas overlooking the Golden Gate. The cemetery is beautifully maintained with a quiet air of peace and tranquility. The day I was there a group was preparing to place wreaths on several hundred... More

This is a scenic final resting place that's easily accessible to the public. Every American should visit a national cemetery and this is a good one to do that. It's sobering to think what a small fraction these markers represent for all the heroes that have kept us free.

Breathtaking views, a beautiful cemetery and monument to so many fallen heroes and soldiers. Simply beautiful, no words can truly describe this place.

This National Cemetery is located just off the main post of the Presidio overlooking San Francisco Bay. Highway 101 is getting closer and closer to the cemetery, due to the recent construction project. This is still a very beautiful and well-kept cemetery with a lot of history to be read on the granite markers of these heroes from the Spanish-American... More

We were walking around the trails of the Presidio and weren't even expecting to walk into this tranquil place with such magnificent views (guess we didn't do our homework). It's well worth a walk and a few moments to reflect on the sacrifices of others, feel the breeze and enjoy the view.

Very well kept and beautiful cemetery with wonderful views of the GG Bridge. There are also hiking trails around it within the Fort that we used while staying at the Inn at the Presidio. Serene and peaceful.

We happened upon this cemetery in the Presidio. Beautiful, serene and dignified... God bless these service men and women along with their families. Reminded me of a smaller Arlington Cemetery.

On a misty day this cemetary, with it's rigid lines and beautifully kept grounds is very imposing. Located in the Presidio it is a truly sobering visit.
