So many things to see and do at the Presidio, USA - the only totally self supporting National Park . Walks, talks, art, nature, history . Be sure to stop at the Officers Club and visit the Heritage Gallery

We biked through the Presidio which was previously a defence base but now being used as residential housing. We were impressed at the cleanliness and upkeep of the properties. Worth a look and easily accessible.

The Presidio offers a lot of great nature and history. There are free shuttles that run around the park that can transport you to the Golden Gate Bridge, to the Oceanfront beaches and throughout areas of the park that offer nice hiking options. There is a centralized location which offers Off the Grid which is food trucks and music overlooking... More

A few of the old WWII bunkers have be transformed into a contemporary art installation by the For Site Foundation: Home Land Security, on display til mid December 2016. Check these fine artists out while it is still on display! Disturbing, challenging and inspiring work by internationally recognized artists, beautifully curated. We can highly recommend this as we thoroughly enjoyed the right - the views of the bridge riding up are amazing as are the views from the... More

I am thrilled to see that they are preserving the legacy of the base as a national park for everyone. It is very large with many museums and activities. Since it was Veterans... More

Use the free shuttles to get around. Many places to see in the area. One of the shuttle routes will take you to the Golden Gate Bridge visitors center. There is also a shuttle that goes into downtown.
