At the northwestern corner of San Francisco, there is a series of stunning views at every turn in this wild and windy trail. Hillsides of cypress and wildflowers, views of shipwrecks and access to the ruins of Sutro baths, a San Francisco specials memory.

We were invited by friends to lunch at the Cliff House after visiting Legion of Honor. The photo-story of the former sea-bathing facilities was all around the walls and so interesting. Our table by the window afforded us the sight of whales sporting just off-shore. The food and service were superb with great views and history all around. Treat yourselves... More

On a sunny day, this is a great place to see the Pacific Ocean, the Golden Gate Bridge and the site of the old Sutro baths. There are some memorable views. Great place for pictures. 1. Avoid driving. Parking is very limited. 2. If you do have to drive, don't leave valuables in the car. Car break-ins seem to be... More

I am a huge fan of remnants of old parks/pools/buildings and this place lived up to my expectations. I was fortunate to have a SF friend drive me here to explain the history and we stopped in the park side information and gift shop for further information. Fascinating history. You can still see remnant son the old pools. This is... More

This is a wonderful park with sweeping views of the beach to the south and Golden Gate to the north. Well maintained paths and trails.

This is a great place to see the past and present come together. Walk the trails of Lands End and go see the pools, the relatively new Visitor Center near the top of the hills. Good restaurants from pricey to reasonable. Yours for the picking or bring your own picnic lunch and sit at Ocean Beach. Bring some good walking... More

I love this short walk to Lands End, very scenic with great views. It is near The Palace of the Legion of Honor, a small art museum that sometimes has great special exhibits.

Be ambitious and take the coastal trail from the Legion of Honor. If not so inclined take the bus. You will not be disappointed. Less frequented than Golden Gate park you will enjoy the relative remote feel as you hike through the beauty of the cypress trees. Be forewarned that on the day we went there was some fog so... If you like beautiful coastal views of the ocean and the Golden Gate Bridge visit this park full of trails, a beach and WW2 monuments. Well worth the visit. You can sit at the top and look at the views and a monument or hike down to the beach or to other view points. Around the corner are the Sutton... More
