It's a beautiful area filled with tourists and buzzing with various entertaining options, bars and restaurants and gift shops, An aquarium, pier for boat tours, all are here.. Must visit when in SF.

We walked around a few hours and the day was beautiful. It is a lovely photo spot.the people were in the water .. some were swimming.. wading and just sitting by the small beach. We were near Fisherman's Wharf. Great place to walk.

I would vote for the East Bay as a base with sojourns into the City, but I would stay more on the Berkeley/Kensington/Solano side of things rather than Oakland. Weatherwise, fall and spring are the sunnier times for SF... More
