free entertainment watching the many unfit people walk to the top of Lombard to make the trek down again. Great views of the bay and Alcatraz and beautiful flowers on the zig zag.

Be prepared to walk like you've never walked before. It's a hike to get up those hills and it's pretty crowded with people wanting to stand in the middle of the street to take photos. Not much to do but watch the cars drive down,...More

Yes, it's a very touristy thing to do (and I'm sure the residents just love the extra crowds and traffic) but it is a great view from the top of the street. Really nice gardens/landscape all the way down too. We walked it, but I'd...More

Walked up Lombard Street admiring the slow-driving cars and very colorful homes. The short pedestrian steps make the walk up very easy. A must stop during a visit to San Francisco.

Whether you are on foot or in a car, this street is so worth it. The view is incredible and the zigzaging street makes you feel like you're in a movie. Try to get there in the morning, before the heavy traffic.

As mentioned before I got the cable car to the top and walked down the steps at the side to the bottom. You need to cross over Leavenworth Street if you want to get the iconic photo.
