Hangout for the down and outs I'm afraid and with the grass worn and under repair it isn't very pretty at the moment. Toilets at one end were very handy all the same. 1998

It was a great night in the park. A free showing of the movie La La Land. It was packed with people sitting on blankets or lounge chairs. A great crowd with no violence or other issues. It is across the street from Saint Peters...More

We descended Telegraph Hill and made our way to central North Beach, with Washington Square being a natural stopping point. There was much activity in the park, ranging from sunbathers to dog enthusiasts to the homeless. In other words, it is a fitting representation of...More

This small city park is located on Columbus Street at Union. This is a popular place to visit. We found locals and visitors alike lounging in the grass and people watching on the day we visited. Lots of neighborhood festivals are held here.

North Beach / Telegraph Hill
The aroma of freshly roasted coffee beans, the sounds
of opera, and the sights of the romantic Italian
ristorante come together to create the charming
neighbourhood of North Beach, once the stomping
grounds for the Beatnik Generation. Although parts of
North Beach are known for nightlife that’s not always
suitable for younger visitors, few neighbourhoods in
the city exude as much European charm and style.

Yes, there's street parking, which might be difficult depending on timing, and there is also a nearby parking garage.
