We wondered through the square and were impressed with the cleanliness of the area. Of course we purchased the famous chocolate and it certainly lived up to its name. The square is within very easy walking distance to Fishermans Bend.

If you decide that you don't want to wait in the 2 hour long cable car line, then you might want to visit this local landmark instead. There are some upper end shops but the big attraction is the famous Ghirardelli choclolate shop. There are now 2 different shops that sell the chocolate and they hand out free samples at... More

We decided to visit Ghirardelli Square as it seems to be a tourist attraction. We were disappointed with what was there. We did go into the Ghirardelli Chocolate shop and received a free chocolate square as we entered. But the stuff in the shop was the same chocolate you could buy anywhere. There were some San Francisco themed gift boxes.... More

This place is a lovely little surprise at the end of the Fishermans wharf area. The Ghiradelli sign lights up at night otherwise I wouldn't have known to go looking for it! Make sure you walk up the stairs and check out the mermaid fountain and the main Ghiradelli shop because we didn't realise it was up there at first... More

I thought the store would have an amazing variety of chocolate, it was just pretty much the same handful of variety over and over again. Then we went to the soda shop and was eager to try the Famous Hot Fudge Sundae...hmmm. It wasn't spectacular, the fudge wasn't even hot, and it was $11 bucks. On our trip back home,... More

This old factory has been converted to a collection of shops and restaurants with a couple of areas for performers. A nice place to walk around and take in a bit of San Francisco. We walked here - a couple of times - from the Fisherman's Wharf area. If you choose to make the walk, be sure you have comfortable... More

Few stores and and 2 Ghirardelli store. Nice building. Small square. If you have time and you are in the area go, otherwise it is not a must see attraction.

Another tourist trap, only with the advantage of offering Ghirardelli chocolate and beautiful old industrial architecture, as well as views in all directions.
