It truly is as beautiful as you think it is. There is a parking lot you can stop and get out to take pictures of the entire bridge, with other breathtaking views of the bay.... What a site!

This is something you have to do just to say you have been there!...The history of the bridge was informative about how they painted it. On the other side is a great place to visit Muir Woods and Sausalito.

I mean it's a pretty big bridge, not much to say, there are way too many people there and the bikers are extremely rude and should probably have a lane not near the pedestrians, I don't know why they don't have people going on both sides of the bridge, however you do get amazing views of the city and it's... So many things to do in California but to walk the Golden Gate Bridge is not to be missed. If your scared o heights walk in the bike lane as long as you dont inhibit them. Great experience

You need to know that it's a long walk from one end to the other, so be prepared! No dogs, either! It is nearly always windy, head gear advised.

It was an amazing experience walking across the bridge!! I actually wanted to take a jog, but it was a busy day and there wasnt much room for a jog, but the views were amazing, great photo opportunities, and just a wonderful experience.

Crowded but a must when visiting San Francisco... Great for the whole family even with kids. It is better to go early in the morning especially on a nice day to beat the crowd.

It's hard to beat the history, engineering, architecture and scenic beauty that the Golden Gate Bridge provides all at once. The negatives would have to be the cold winds, fog and crowds. In my own experience from living in San Francisco, it seems the best times to visit the bridge are mid-late afternoon (as the fog seems more likely in... More

Spending time in the SAN Francisco area would not be complete without walking across the GG Bridge! Fun way to see the bay and experience the majesty of the bridge. Best way is to drive from SF to Marin, park and walk back and forth. It's cold and windy up on the bridge so dress warm! Great Vistas for photo... More

Seems rather silly that I even have to say this but you MUST drive across (yes, spend the money on the toll) and walk as far across as you can.
