Totally recommend biking the Golden Gate on rented bikes(Blazing saddles, recommend them). Mind the wind on the bridge though, unless traveling sep-oct, as it is cool and strong, occasionally gusty.

Went to the desolated fort and took lots of pictures of the edge of the hill overlooking the Pacific Ocean, what a beautiful sight to see the Bay Bridge connecting to Marin County.

great to see in the morning just peeping above the mist. Visit in the afternoon to get the best views from it. It's very windy crossing it so hold onto your head gear

The golden gate bridge is simply stunning. I kept taking pictures. I walked all the way from Union Square to Sausalito through the bridge and the landscape is breathless.

Beautiful to view the bridge from any spot. It is nice to go across and there is a park on the other side where you can take more advantage of the bridge and views.

We were lucky and went under the bridge, over the bridge, on the bridge and got the most amazing view of the bridge all in one day. We visited the visitor centre which seemed more of a gift shop than anything else. The amount of...More

There are many July 4th events in SF - best to check the SF tourism tips site for specifics - Pier 39 and aquatic park are the venues for lots of activities and the fireworks.

We hired bikes and cycled over, the advantage being we were able to stop and take photos of the views of San Francisco. When you get to Sausalito you can have lunch before getting the ferry back but be sure to queue early... More
